To gain an in-depth understanding of cutting-edge technologies and applications in the fusion industry, the Association accompanied the Hefei Development and Reform Commission on a field visit to Beijing on February 26, 2025. The delegation engaged in in-depth exchanges with corporate representatives to discuss development strategies.
Participants included: Zhang Jie, Vice Chairman of the Hefei Development and Reform Commission; Yang Tianshou, Vice Chairman of the Luoyang District CPPCC and Chairman of the District Development and Reform Commission; Li Chen, Director of the Science Center Office of the Hefei Development and Reform Commission; Xu Meng, Staff Member of the Fusion Industry Task Force at the Hefei Development and Reform Commission; and Shi Jianxin, Association Secretariat.

The delegation visited two high-tech enterprises: Beijing Prodetec Technology Co., Ltd. and Beijing SIO Technology Co., Ltd. As a domestic provider of precision measurement equipment and integrated measurement solutions, Prodetec has participated in major projects such as BEST and ITER. SIO, a national high-tech enterprise specializing in photoelectric sensors, has its equipment widely used by numerous fusion research institutions domestically and internationally, including the Institute of Plasma Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Southwestern Institute of Physics, and the ITER Organization. The delegation gained in-depth understanding of the two companies' technological innovations, and held extensive discussions on the application of fusion industry technology and future collaboration. Vice Chairman Zhang Jie emphasized that materials, equipment, and components across the entire fusion industry chain are critical to its development. He noted that such visits serve both as learning opportunities and as a means to deepen cooperation, which is of great significance to both the government and enterprises.

Through this visit, the Association has established closer cooperative relationships with the two high-tech enterprises in Beijing. Building on the insights gained, we will accelerate the development of Hefei fusion industry, facilitate the implementation of more high-quality projects, and contribute to establishing Hefei as an internationally influential hub for technological innovation.
