On March 7, 2025, Fusion Energy Tech held an exchange session on safety research for fusion experimental facilities with the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center, Ministry of Ecology and Environment in Beijing. The event was chaired by Mao Yahong, Deputy Director of the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center. Attendees included Director Yan Tianwen, as well as experts from various departments including Department of Radioactive Source Safety Assessment, Department of Environmental Impact Assessment, Research Institute, and Science & Technology Office. General Manager Huang Suzhen, Senior Advisor Liao Rongguo, Research Fellow Zheng Shanliang from the Hefei Institutes of Physical Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Associate Research Fellow Zhong Guoqiang were also present.
During the event, Huang Suzhen emphasized that fusion energy has gradually become a focus of international competition, and that professional technical research and regulatory coordination are crucial for its development. Against this backdrop, the company anticipates close collaboration with the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center to conduct safety research on fusion experimental facilities. Director Yan Tianwen welcomed the delegation from our company and expressed that fusion regulation requires in-depth study of the safety characteristics of fusion experimental facilities, exploration of regulatory requirements suited to the features of fusion, and the building of a robust fusion regulatory system to boost efficient development in the field.
